PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS

The NACM-National Education Department awards three different designations to individuals for progressive levels of competence in the field of business credit and finance:

  • Credit Business Associate (CBA). An academic-based designation certifying mastery of three credit-related disciplines: basic financial accounting, business credit principles and introductory financial statement analysis.
  • Credit Business Fellow (CBF). An academic and career roadmap-based designation that acknowledges an individual for contributing in the field of business credit by earning the CBA designation, completing additional coursework, accumulating 75 career roadmap points and passing a proficiency exam.
  • Certified Credit Executive (CCE). NACM’s highest designation, recognizing individuals that are capable of managing the credit function at an executive level. CCE professionals have at least 10 years of credit and/or financial management experience, have earned 125 career roadmap points and have passed a rigorous proficiency test.
TRAINING

NACM is mindful of the ever-changing needs, time pressures and varying levels of technological knowledge of its members. As such, there are a wide range of training options available.Training is available through self-study courses, special programs, seminars, webinars and workshops.

ANNUAL CREDIT CONGRESS

Each year in spring, over 2000 credit professionals gather for a week of educational programs, professional networking and good times with industry peers, experts and vendors. With nearly 70 different sessions offered, there is something to meet every level and need, regardless of prior education and/or skill level. Visit the Credit Congress site.

NATIONAL CREDIT MANAGEMENT EXECUTIVES (NCME) & CREDIT AND FINANCIAL DEVELOPMENT DIVISION (CFDD)

NCME and CFDD are networking and education groups of credit professionals that meet locally on a regular basis. Each meeting includes dinner, an educational program and professional networking.

PUBLICATIONS & RESOURCES

To enhance continuing education, NACM offers a wide variety of publications and resources including:

  • Business Credit. The “industry standard” for credit professionals is filled with practical, up-to-date topics both on domestic credit as well as international credit issues and events. The 10 issues per year magazine is closely linked to NACM-National’s website, www.nacm.org.
  • Credit Digest. NACM South Central’s monthly newsletter presents articles and local updates of upcoming educational opportunities and events.
  • Legal Edge. An NACM South Central bi-monthly publication of local business public record information including federal and state tax liens, judgments, lawsuits, lis pendens, mechanic’s liens and bankruptcies.
  • NACM Bookstore. The Bookstore offers a full range of books and publications on credit related topics.
  • NACM Resource Library. This online tool allows members to download forms and search laws, topics and cross-reference data in NACM publications as well as the archives of Business Credit magazine.
  • NACM Websites. National and local websites serve as a valuable resource for upcoming educational opportunities, events and contact information. The national website and home of the NACM Bookstore and Online Resource Library is www.nacm.org.
